Xandros
I've been terrible about keeping up here. Work Work Work. That's all I can say.
Yesterday Microsoft stopped all support of Win 98 amd ME including security updates.
You could update to Win XP. That will cost you anywhere from about $80 for the academic edition if you qualify to upwards of $200 for XP Pro. Oh, and you'll probably need memory upgrades as well. It may crawl however.
An alternative would be a Linus distribution. Xandros would be my first recommendation to most and now we have version 4.
This from Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols
Xandros 4 is the latest in a long series of Linux desktops dating back to Corel's 1999 Linux desktop. Xandros has come a long, long way since then.

Today, as three older members of the Windows family depart, Xandros is more than able to take up the needs of these, and other, Windows users. More so than almost any other Linux desktop, Xandros is designed to look and feel like Windows.
